Summary The Java Developer provides analysis, design, programming and unit testing for delivery of new applications and ongoing support and enhancement of existing applications, primarily Guidewire InsuranceNow. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a very inquisitive mindset. This position requires a strong desire to learn and ability to focus on the details.
Essential Job Functions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of product manager, business users, architects, analysts, other developers and vendors to ensure successful delivery of high-value business capabilities, and high-quality software.
Analyze, design, develop and test core insurance system business capabilities, enhancements and fixes.
Provide support to business users and management for Q&A and troubleshooting
Provide input/feedback on tools, standards and practices utilized in our software development lifecycle
Meets or exceeds goals as outlined in performance and development plan
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related discipline and/or equivalent industry work experience
3-5+ years Java Development
2+ years P&C insurance industry experience
Guidewire InsuranceNow system experience
Velocity scripting language
Policy/Claim system development experience
Familiarity with agile/scrum
