This position is responsible for administration of specific Human Resources functional responsibilities, programs and procedures for all company employees under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, including employee on-boarding and recruiting, benefits and payroll coordination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers various employee benefit programs, such as but not limited to group insurance, disability, voluntary plans, reimbursement plans, 401(k) plan.
  • Ensures accuracy of HRIS information related to all employee services including change reporting, invoice reconciliation/department allocation, enrollment process, and administrative issues with the service providers. Assists Human Resources Manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any company benefit plans.
  • Manages annual open enrollment process each year. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers and conducts employee presentations.
  • Assures compliance with department FMLA, COBRA and HIPAA guidelines as they relate to group benefits.
  • Coordinates with Training Manager to conduct meetings and training presentations designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other Human Resources programs and systems.
  • Manages coordination the use of temporary employees and assisting in organization recruitment effort: job postings, screens resumes; schedule interviews, administers pre-employment tests, conducts reference checks and requests background checks through service provider(s) .
  • Manages employee onboarding including orientations, setting up required training, etc.
  • Prepares and maintains employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentially.
  • Coordinates company payroll in accordance with the payroll calendar, company’s pay schedule and special payrolls as needed. Works with staff to reconcile data including auditing timesheets, vacation and sick benefit accruals, sick time use, etc.
  • Administers employee incentive programs, plans and coordinates employee-related special events
  • Administers and monitors the recruiting, hiring, and termination functions and procedures in selected areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years related Human Resources experience with a minimum of 3 years coordinating payroll.
  • PHR designation required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in UltiPro or related product.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to, and respond to questions from individuals and groups of employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general human resources and business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical ability to perform arithmetic operations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to perform effectively under high-stress situations and within short deadlines.

  • The employee frequently is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
