This position is primarily responsible for the systematic identification and elimination of waste across all business functions, providing the selected candidate with opportunities to influence a diverse range of departments and disciplines in the process. The CI Engineer will accomplish their objectives both as an individual contributor and as a team leader, and will be expected to help build & foster a business environment that embraces kaizen / continuous improvement (CI) as a key to the company’s ongoing growth and success.
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will carry out many of the following duties:
Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the company’s cash conversion cycle.
Using formal, data-driven problem-solving and implementation methodologies (e.g., 6-sigma, etc.) to drive their initiatives forward and deliver results.
Leading & participating in lean initiatives, such as 5s, value stream teams, and blitz events.
Identifying and leading projects that support the company’s environmental sustainability goals and initiatives.
Training individuals and teams in the use of basic lean / productivity tools to promote a culture of kaizen at all levels.
Writing business cases and capital expenditure requests to justify & support potential CI projects.
Working with manufacturing, quality assurance, and other teams when cross-functional problem solving initiatives are required.
Working with industrial engineering and accounting to determine the financial impact of continuous improvement activities.
Supporting industrial and manufacturing engineering departments by leading facility upgrade and equipment installation projects.
Developing training material, operating procedures, and work instructions and training individuals and teams as needed in updated processes and procedures.
Organizing meetings, events, and associated logistics related to CI activity.

Required experience for this role includes:
At least 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
At least 2 years of experience in a dedicated lean or CI capacity with a quantifiable track record of results.
In-depth knowledge of lean / CI tools with practical application experience.
Previous experience in team leadership or project management roles.
