POSITION DESCRIPTION

The St. James is seeking a Retail Manager at its Springfield, VA location.

The St. James is the premier sports, wellness and active entertainment destination in the country, with 450,000 sq. ft. of developmental and competitive programs, teams and opportunities in more than 30 sports, and a wide range of premium fitness, wellness and entertainment experiences. The Retail Director role will be primarily responsible for the overall operation of retail services within the St. James. The successful candidate will be able to forecast, plan, and manage all retail orders and budget within corporate guidelines. The retail manager will work directly with the site general manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop budget guidelines and manage all retail operations within those guidelines
  • Develop reports to management regarding sales results and productivity
  • Maintain an inventory for all retail operations for the facility
  • Manage member and customer complaints and resolve issues derived from those comments
  • Order department supplies, manage and communicate with vendors
  • Create weekly schedules for staff and communicates changes as appropriate to all
  • Responsible for employee relation issues and reviews incidents with the Team & Talent Manager
  • Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and shippers
  • Work with vendors and management on creating new ideas to maximize sales and providing new merchandise to our members
  • Create a sales mix and space allocation plan
  • Develop a detailed seasonal buying plan
  • Create visual selling experiences with layouts & fixturing
  • Analyze sales reports for best sellers, inventory turn rates, and margin by product/sku’s

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, or other related degree
  • 5+ years in retail management or relevant fields
  • Proven track record of managing retail operations
  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of sales and customer service techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Background check and drug screen required
