Summary:

The Rubin Report is seeking an experienced and talented Digital Producer/Editor to join their production team! The Digital Producer/Editor will play an integral role in continuing to grow what has become one of the largest political podcasts and talk shows in the digital space, which has an emphasis on libertarian minded ideas and a focus on free speech. This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA.

About You:

You’re a digital production jack of all trades who is just as comfortable commanding a control room as you are wrangling high profile talent, editing the final cuts of an interview, or hopping on a conference call with an advertiser. You have experience working in the audio visual field with a strong understanding of signal flow and studio equipment operation, as well as a strong sense of storytelling and editorial direction. You’re a self starter who works well independently or on a team, have a good sense of humor, and are level headed in the face of stress.

What You’ll Do:

  • Produce original interviews with high profile host / talent for a growing political media brand
  • Shoot original content in a four camera live cut livestream studio, acting as camera operator, video switcher, and audio engineer as needed in productions
  • Operate and maintain in-house live digital video and podcasting studio, ensuring equipment is maintained and functioning properly
  • Setup both in house and external live streams on YouTube and Facebook and monitor live stream for issues
  • Edit digital and social video content like promos, behind the scenes features, and bonus clips for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Research political topics / guests
  • Write and coordinate advertisement copy for promotional reads, liaising with outside clients and brands as necessary
  • Collaborate with a small team to ensure editorial, social, marketing, and creative project goals are achieved

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years working knowledge of audio visual equipment with a proficiency in lighting, sound, and video recording along with experience with the technical challenges and problem solving needs in a studio production environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience producing and editing digital new media and/or broadcast media production
  • In depth understanding of technical concepts and operation of digital video cameras and studio hardware. Ability to operate video camera (Sony PXW-X70), video switchers (Tricaster 410), lighting boards, and audio mixers (Behringer x32)
  • Experience with audio/video production and post-production utilizing current technologies including live streaming across various social platforms
  • Understanding of format and file type compatibility issues specific to video and audio
  • Expert level experience with Adobe Premiere
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and other graphics applications
  • Demonstrated ability to tell stories across multiple platforms
  • Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Ability to motivate and focus cross functional teams to reach challenging goals
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. and climb scaffolding
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to practice discretion and respect highly confidential information
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
