The Goddard School located in Pittsford, NY is seeking early childhood teachers for the 2013-2014 school year. Positions begin in August. After School Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic teacher to share their talents with our Kindergarten students in an extra-curricular capacity. The after-school enrichment program is an extension of our full day private Kindergarten classroom. The program exposes children to fine art, world cultures, music, dramatic arts, fitness, science and friendship. The part-time teaching hours are: Monday-Friday 3:30-6:00pm, with a potential for full time hours.
Minimum of a High School diploma
2+ years working with young children in a school or camp setting
Knowledge in Child Development
Experience with program planning
Shared philosophy of play-based & child-centered learning environment
Excellent classroom management skills
Creative, nurturing, organized, energetic and flexible personality
Exemplary work ethic
Teaching degree and/or teaching experience
Skills in American Sign Language or other foreign language
Background experience in the Arts (music, art, dance, drama, etc.)
Computer and classroom technology skills
Knowledge of NYS OCFS regulations
About The Goddard School:
The Goddard School is located in Bushnell's Basin in Pittsford. We offer a morning education program for all children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, a full-day private Kindergarten program, and a full day of education for families who need a quality child care program between 7am - 6pm.
Our structured educational program consists of language arts, music, cognitive stimulation, motor development, outdoor play, social learning, self-help skills and free exploration. We offer a variety of enrichment resources for our students including sign language, Spanish, nutrition education, physical education, manners, yoga and more. We believe that children develop a life-long love of learning by exploring their environment through play.
