Position Summary:

The Smart Home Product Marketing Manager is responsible for guiding the definition and launch of a growing range of smart home products that will connect through a network of services and combine to deliver joyful customer experiences. The Smart Home Product Marketing Manager will link together home audio, home comfort and home theater hardware with a network of mobile apps, voice assistant services and content delivery platforms. The position will be responsible for identifying market requirements and for leading the product launch of TCL smart home products in North America. The Smart Home Product Marketing Manager will work closely with product engineering teams to ensure delivery of consistently excellent customer experiences. The position will guide the sales and marketing operations teams through the new product introduction process of TCL smart home products. This position will serve as the voice of the customer through the product development and market launch, will support sales with retail partner education, and will guide marketing operations to deliver effective product communications. The Smart Home Product Marketing Manager will use a deep knowledge of competitor products and services, technology trends and customer insights to deliver award-winning smart home products.

A Day in the Life:

Market Launch:

  • Become the expert in home audio, home theater and home comfort products through a complete understanding of customer needs/problems through market data analysis and direct experiences. Gain a firm technical understanding of our smart home products, design workflow and use cases
  • Direct the marketing operations team in the creation of customer-facing content and sales tools such as videos, social media communications, micro-sites and traditional marketing materials
  • Monitor the competition and deliver monthly reporting and direction to optimize towards annual operating plan
  • Strategize and lead in the tactical implementation of post-purchase customer experience to inspire long term brand loyalty and positively impact customer lifetime value

Product Development:

  • Lead smart home product development teams as the consumer advocate focusing on the key performance requirements and customer expectations for the North America market
  • Continuously evolve the organizational knowledge of new technologies and services with an aim to drive market-leading and award-winning smart home products
  • Drive product development partners – both internally in China and externally in North America - to communicate program status and ensure delivery of projects that meet the high performance standard requirements of our customers
  • Serve as a primary contact for external and internal product development partners to track deliverables and ensure service agreements are fulfilled
  • Directly test and document issues with smart home products under development or for fielded products
  • Create comprehensive reviewer’s guides and demonstration scenarios to support internal and external product reviews and product demos
  • Manage, update, tune and distribute smart home hardware assets for internal and external partners and customer

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field with 3+ years’ experience in technology product marketing
  • Demonstrated success as a consumer electronics or smart home device product or marketing manager, showing a track record of successfully launching complex programs
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills, especially on projects with multiple development partners and within complex multi-region organizations
  • Strong English language communication skills, with an understanding of cross-cultural issues
  • Self-directed with a demonstrated ability to prioritize activities to align with rapidly growing programs and responsibilities
