Position Purpose:

Standard Equipment is looking for a Back Counter Parts Associate. Associate’s primary role will be to maintain a daily flow of parts to Standard Equipment’s technicians while placing orders as needed to fulfill the parts needs of the Service Department. Service Department is this person’s number 1 customer.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist technicians in identifying parts needed for repairs.

* Advises technicians on substitutions and/or modifications of parts when identical replacements are not available.

* Provide price quotes and lead time information.

* Verify OEM pricing before ordering non-stock items.

* Stage and manage orders for active & scheduled repairs.

* Process parts returns from the technicians.

* Utilize multiple vendor networks to locate parts currently out of stock.

* Partner with warehouse employees to pull ticket orders for customers.

* Advise Service office of parts availability, lead times, and arrival of back ordered parts.

* Work closely with the Service Department to additional areas of need that position can assist with.

* Place orders for parts that are temporarily out of stock through a back ordering system.

* Build relationships with internal & external customers, to better meet their needs.

* Coordinate with others in the parts department to troubleshoot issues as necessary.

* Manage time effectively and efficiently.

* Complete core inspections and process appropriately.

* Track, follow up, and report on back ordered parts.

* Operate a forklift as necessary.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* 3 to 5 years customer service experience.

* One year experience within the automotive industry is highly desirable.

* Technical aptitude is a must, experience or trainable on industrial trucking equipment.

* Strong organizational and time management skills. Need to possess the ability to multitask and prioritize simultaneous projects while obtaining a high level of accuracy.

* Excellent verbal and written skills.
