The mission of this role is to write content for Fulcrum’s marketing channels, including blog posts, landing pages, advertising campaigns, newsletters, social media channels, press releases, and more. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to write content that helps attract new interested prospects in the product, and also communicates the latest news, how-tos, announcements, and features to our existing user base. This is a role where you’ll write new material every day, as well as help the rest of our team in contributing their own content by editing everything we publish.

Ability to understand software terminology is a must, as we produce a SaaS-based software product. We need a writer, not a “marketing person who can write” or an “SEO copywriter”. This role will need to spend the majority of their time writing daily on a variety of topics. Technical writers, journalists, longform writers — anyone who is used to high word counts and simplifying and condensing complex ideas into an understandable structure would be a perfect fit for this role.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Write copy for marketing sources including our website, newsletters, social media, and landing pages

  • Publish blog posts according to a regular schedule

  • Write how-to articles and guidebooks

  • Edit any and all content published for voice, tone, grammar, structure, consistency, and correctness

  • Create user and developer documentation/walkthroughs/guides for new features as they are released, being sure to tailor the content the specific needs of the audience.


  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis on technical writing skills (English, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Journalism), or professional experience as a writer

  • 2+ years of experience as a writer

  • Technical background preferred, knowledge of web publishing or CMS systems like Wordpress, Drupal, GitHub Pages, et al

  • Portfolio of published work

  • Knowledge of software, technical content marketing, and inbound marketing preferred
