This position is expected to apply sound and diversified knowledge of electric distribution system engineering principles and practices as well as make independent decisions concerning assigned projects. Responsibilities will include training and provision of engineering support to a variety of company personnel.
The Distribution Substation Engineer is responsible for the design and material specification for new substations and modifications to existing substations. The engineer is also responsible for assisting in the development of substation maintenance plans and activities as well as responding to substation equipment failures and related events. Duties include development and tracking of project budgets as well as project management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor& apos;s Degree in Electrical Engineering and have demonstrated competence in electric distribution system engineering principles and practices. Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired. Applicants for this position must have strong analytical, communication, and team skills as well as the ability to identify creative solutions to complex and abstract issues. Knowledge of computer systems and the ability to use a variety of office and engineering software is required.
This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.
