You will be the online host and voice of the OFBYFOR ALL movement. You will welcome, motivate, and collaborate with civic and cultural professionals around the world who want to make their organizations OF, BY, and FOR their communities. You will write, design, and distribute communications content that drives participation in the OFBYFOR ALL network. Your work exists at the beginning of our partners’ journeys; what you produce is often their first touch with the OFBYFOR ALL movement. In this job, you will...
Drive participation with OFBYFOR ALL tools, programs, and content.
Proactively promote OFBYFOR ALL activities and offerings through all outbound channels: social media, e-newsletter, website, press releases and more. Form global partnerships to spread the word effectively to existing networks in specific regions and professional sectors.
Make it easy for new participants to feel welcome and involved in the movement.
Provide global participants with authentic, efficient, scalable opportunities to co-produce content, spread ideas and tools, and become true partners in movement-building.
Grow our online following.
Build the OFBYFOR ALL social media presence and increase followers, email subscribers, and users of free online tools.
Build our brand by producing rich content.
Add value to our partners’ work online by producing rich, original content. That may include: partner stories, behind-the-scenes stories, professional development articles, videos & more. Interact with our online audience in comment threads. The better the content, the more people will seek opportunities to go deeper with the movement.
Represent OFBYFOR ALL at global conferences and training events.
Create fun and educational opportunities for conference participants to connect with the movement so they convert to active involvement once back at work.
You are an excellent candidate if...
You are an incredible writer
You write powerful stories with clear calls to action. You know how to use your writing to motivate people to change. You can adapt your writing to an organizational voice guide (which you can also influence).
You are an experienced digital community/movement organizer
You have led cause-driven campaigns, community organizing, or marketing efforts in past work. You use social media to bring people together and make change. You know how to start and facilitate asynchronous conversations and distributed collective action. You love empowering users as partners--and you know how to keep that manageable. You keep on top of the ever-changing digital organizing landscape.
You measure everything
You define success with measurable results. You are able to define meaningful metrics for your work and you hold yourself and your team (including volunteers) accountable to hitting those goals. You are proficient with digital analytics tools.
You put partners/community first
You bring voice to our partners and visitors and reflect what they value back to the community. You are a cheerleader for our diverse partners in everything you do. You are a space-maker who creates many opportunities for participants to take the lead. You enjoy recruiting and supporting interns and volunteers to extend your work’s impact.
You seek feedback early and often
You are driven to adapt and continually learn. You’re unafraid of failure and you learn quickly from your mistakes.
You thrive in a changing environment
You like to sprint. You like to build and break things. You stay focused on the long-term goals of the movement and the primacy of partners’ experiences, but you are not afraid to change tactics as new opportunities arise.
Bonus Points if you…
Have an international background and/or speak multiple languages fluently
Have specific experience working on campaigns that target organizational change (as opposed to personal change)
Have a personal, lived understanding of what it feels like to be excluded from civic or cultural institutions.
