This position is located in the Townsend clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana (local candidates only please). This is a part-time position working only 4 days Monday - Thursday (off work Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

You must have the following credentials, skills and experience for this position:
Must have significant phlebotomy training with 2-3 years of direct experience drawing blood.
Must have at least 2 years medical field experience, preferably in a laboratory setting.
Clerical and administrative background with a laboratory healthcare emphasis preferred.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to demonstrate clear oral and written communication.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to utilize basic mathematical skills as needed.
Organized and able to independently perform laboratory functions/procedures and manage tasks.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Possess initiative. Self-starter to address operational issues as they present.
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Good to excellent in spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
Working proficiency of Microsoft Office and Excel software programs.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Able to hear ordinary conversation and telephone communications.
If you join Sagenex, you’ll enjoy the following responsibilities:
Travel to designated facility for purpose of collecting urine/blood specimens.
Evaluate requests for accuracy and completeness, placing orders in the LIMS (Apollo), verifying labeling/identification, and following appropriate protocol in handling specimens. Collector is responsible for obtaining patient demographic and insurance data.
Follow collection procedures and protocols as they pertain to each site.
Maintain professional boundaries while interacting with clients.
Abide by HIPAA regulations.
Participate in necessary educational/training activities.
Communicate pertinent laboratory information to healthcare providers including patient test results or established laboratory practices.
Prepare materials for testing. Identify obstacles and recommend strategies and process improvements to overcome to the Lab Coordinator.
Monitor inventory levels. Order materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures. Verify orders upon receipt.
· Update patient logs and monthly census as assigned.
