Our fast-growing digital agency is looking for a full-time Social Advertising Manager to help fulfill our growing demand for smart digital advertising strategy for clients in the consumer product industry. This is an integral role that will focus on a small number of high-growth ecommerce clients with $20k - $100k in monthly ad spend. We’re looking for a curious, analytical, and detail-oriented social advertising expert with 2-4 years of hands on experience driving results with paid social campaigns.
In an ideal world, this position will work from our Portsmouth, Virginia office once social distancing restrictions are lifted. However, a number of our employees are remote so we're open to fully remote candidates who are an excellent fit.
Be the driving force behind effective and profitable paid social advertising campaigns, primarily Facebook and Instagram.
Lead strategic planning, tactical execution, and performance analysis of paid social campaigns including:
Overall campaign structure and budget allocation across upper funnel and lower funnel tactics
Audience research, targeting, and segmentation
Plan, build, and launch campaigns in Facebook Ads Manager with a large number of image and messaging variations for testing
Develop messaging strategies and write effective ad copy
Create clear briefs/requests for creative team to develop graphics and images for ads
Identify optimization opportunities and test new tactics to continually grow campaigns while improving performance
Create regular performance reports for internal decision makers and clients
Work with company leaders, teammates, and clients as a collaborative partner to develop new strategies, improvements, and campaign ideas.
Communicate performance results and strategic recommendations to teammates and clients.
Oversee all active social advertising campaigns and manage supporting activities provided by other teammates (e.g. creative, budget monitoring, strategic guidance). This includes active hands-on campaign management while we hire more digital advertising staff over the next 6-12 months.
Analyze user behavior to identify opportunities to improve engagement, conversions, and other campaign performance metrics.
Identify opportunities to grow client revenue and increase marketing efficiency.
Work with major clients to collaborate on new initiatives, coordinate marketing activities with client in-house teams, share status updates, and analyze performance factors.
Contribute to special projects, internal processes, and company initiatives as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and strategies in social advertising and how it fits in larger digital advertising strategies/campaigns.
Approximate Time Allocation
40% Campaign building, testing, performance analysis, and optimization
25% Developing strategies, planning for new initiatives, and drafting creative requirements
15% Collaborating with teammates, client meetings, client communication
15% Project management, managing junior staff and/or contractors
5% Drafting and presenting performance reports
Minimum 2 years of experience managing, developing, and optimizing successful paid social campaigns with ad spend of at least $10,000/month
2+ years of professional experience working in an advertising agency or other marketing environment managing multiple clients simultaneously
Complete understanding of Facebook Ads Manager across major ad types and hands-on experience building new campaigns from the ground up
High level of proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
Strong understanding of relevant technology and platforms:
Paid Search: Google Search, Google Shopping, Product Listing Ads, Bing Ads
Google Suite: Google Sheets, Docs, & Slides
You must be a wizard in both MS Excel and Google Analytics with experience manipulating data to uncover actionable insights that are not obvious in standard reports
You must know how to proactively manage digital campaigns, think two steps ahead, and keep track of what needs to be done today to achieve tomorrow’s goals
You must be an effective verbal and visual communicator with both clients and internal team members
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with e-commerce clients in the consumer product space
The following are not required, but a plus:
Experience managing a small team
Experience advertising on other social platforms like Pinterest, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc.
