We have been contracted to supply Safety Personnel for the BP Oil Spill clean up. The safety observer keeps an eye out for any potential safety hazard for the site/area they are assigned to. Making sure everyone is wearing the proper PPE and following OSHA safety standards and regulations. This is an 18 days on, 3 days off gig. This work involves being in the sun 12- 14 hours a day, in a possible heat stress environment. The pay is $18 hr, $27 hr overtime for the safety observer position and $24 hr, $36 overtime for the safety lead position. Any time over 8 hours a day is overtime. Saturdays and Sundays are overtime. Any hours worked between 5:00PM - 8:00AM is time and a half. You receive a $110 per diem for lodging and food. A $50 allowance for a car per day. Each person must have a car. Averaging 60-90 hours a week. All candidates must finish a 40 Hour HAZWOPER safety certification course before beginning to work. It can be done online. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
