The Position

The HR Director would hold the primary accountability for building and delivering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous performance improvement throughout the company. He/she would work closely with Finance and Accounting Directors to craft the plan with the Partners to build alignment and support, and with the Operations team to implement across various points of touch. Working with these constituents, direct responsibilities include:

  • Career Path Development

    • Review and update current career path plan to ensure alignment with company goals

    • Advise on organizational structure to ensure clear, achievable career path trajectories

    • Work with supervisors to ensure career pathing is clear and achievable to direct reports

  • Company Training & Development

    • Identify training curriculum (appropriate blend of hard and soft skills)

    • Develop training plans

    • Deliver training as appropriate (sourcing appropriate outside vendors or courses as needed)

  • Performance Evaluation

    • Develop performance evaluation standards to increase successful career development

    • Train managers on performance evaluation standards and practices

    • Ensure completion of performance evaluation

  • Individual career pathing as needed for key employees

    • Work directly with supervisors to customize career paths for key employees

  • Facilitate Culture of Learning

    • Advise on meeting structure companywide to ensure agenda that supports an atmosphere of continuous learning

    • Create and manage other forums as appropriate to achieve goals consistent with a learning culture

  • Recruitment Strategy to support Talent Management

    • Design a recruiting process that supports overall talent management goals

    • Supervise the in-house or outsourced recruitment team in execution

    • Work closely with other members of Operations team to ensure collateral activities are delivered: developing hiring goals, sourcing and evaluating candidates, managing staffing pipeline, reporting to management, onboarding new employees, etc.

  • HR Administration

    • Serve as primary relationship holder with the company’s PEO and as internal point-person on HR administrative matters

The Candidate

Reporting to the COO, the candidate will be accountable for delivering on the company’s HR goals, divided into 3 areas with overlapping responsibilities and increasing complexity: HR Administration, Recruitment, and Talent Development. As the firm grows these roles may be owned by different individuals, but the current need is for an HR Director with a specialized focus on Talent Development to drive the firm’s most urgent and complex need, while providing assistance in Recruitment and oversight in HR Administration.

You are:

  • An HR Manager or Director with a professional degree in human resources management and specialized training and/or experience in talent development in a professional services organization

  • Able to work with a high degree of independence, but know when to ask for help

  • A skilled trainer with experience training all levels in an individual and group setting

  • Committed to talent management with experience developing effective career pathing, training and driving retention

  • Able to work effectively in a complex environment

  • A strategic thinker who looks ahead to future possibilities
