Polaris House Clubhouse seeks Executive Director
Program: Polaris House Clubhouse Position: Executive Director
Location: Juneau, Alaska.
Qualifications: Candidates must be committed to the ICCD model, have a knowledge of the healthcare system and issues; Medicaid billing, state vocational rehabilitation systems, a track record of administrative and/or managerial experience preferably in a nonprofit institution; the ability to develop and manage budgets; proven fundraising ability and success in raising money from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government sources; significant experience managing organizational growth and change; and a commitment to working collegially with Board, staff, and especially with the Clubhouse members. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and well-developed interpersonal skills.

Polaris House Clubhouse, now 12 years old and growing, is a nonprofit organized to support individuals that are living with the effects of mental illness and substance use. Polaris House has an average daily attendance of 20 to 26 members and is located in Juneau, Alaska. Juneau is the capitol city of Alaska with a size of about 30 thousand and is not on a road system. It is in the process of achieving recertification from the International Center for Clubhouse Development. The Board of Directors seeks an Executive Director that is a strong leader, administrator, and advocate that can transition the Clubhouse from a successful start-up to a strong, well-established institution with quality programs and influence. The new Executive Director will inspire others to achieve the mission and vision of the organization and will serve as the public face of the Clubhouse.
