Dermatology practice, centrally located in Brooklyn Heights, is seeking a dynamic full-time receptionist. As the first contact person, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A friendly, warm and positive demeanor is mandatory as we strive to provide all patients with a pleasant and efficient experience. Other key qualities include: being reliable, honest, detail oriented, well organized, a quick learner, and having sharp time management and problem solving skills.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two year minimum experience in a medical practice
- Above average computer skills – all work is done on the electronic health record or practice management system. Experience with EMA and/or AdvancedMD is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel
- Basic medical billing knowledge
- Understanding of HIPPA compliance laws
- Team player – this is a “no drama” office where everyone works hard to get the job done
Responsibilities include:
- Multitask front desk tasks including answering phone, scheduling patients and checking in/out patients.
- Check-in patients quickly and accurately. The office runs on-time and the receptionist is the key player.
- Prepare for upcoming patients including insurance verification, reminder calls, and obtaining referrals or doctors’ notes.
- Discuss services, products and fees with prospective patients
- Basic medical billing needs including collecting co-pay and balances, assisting with sending statements/receipts
- Scan paper documents into appropriate management system
- Order and maintain office supplies
- Maintain practice email. Ability to maintain social media sites is a plus.
Receptionist Hours:
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 8:30AM-5:00PM
Wednesday: 8:30AM-4:00PM
Friday: 9:00AM-5:00PM
