Information Technology (IT) Support Technician (Michael Schuler)

The Information Technology (IT) Support Technician assists users with account & workstation set-up and troubleshooting. The IT Support Technician prioritizes, tracks, and responds to email, phone, and in-person requests for support.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides end-user support; troubleshoots and diagnoses problems both on-site and remotely.
  • Tracks service requests received via email, telephone, or in-person visits.
  • Installs, customizes and tests hardware and software.
  • Maintains current and accurate inventory of all company hardware and software through cloud management systems.
  • Research & procure end-user hardware and software.
  • Assist in project-based work and higher-level tasks as needed.
  • Creates and maintains administrative user training and help documentation.
  • Provides presentation support, including audio/visual equipment, as needed.
  • Setup & remote support for mobile devices.
  • Prioritizes, tracks, analyzes, and generates reports on requests.
  • Coordinates updates and other technical activities for supported users.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science, Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, or another related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Windows PC and/or Mac hardware and software and help desk level support.
  • Administration experience with Windows 10 devices.
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft Office 365 & Desktop software.
  • Demonstrated help desk experience, including user support and customer service, for computer applications and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical support, deployment, configuration, and installation of laptop & desktop computers.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical support, deployment, the configuration of iPads, iPhones, Android Phones & hotspots.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting printers, monitors, and other peripherals.
  • Experience in performing hardware diagnostics and coordinating repairs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid grasp of the English language.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Administration experience with macOS 13 and above.
  • Experience configuring network equipment including routers, switches, and cabling.
  • Experience configuring Cloud VoIP desktop & conference phones.
