Job Description

The Operations Supervisor will support the operation in delivering excellence to our customers while gaining sufficient knowledge and experience to grow into a prospective Operations Manager. Within the company engages in processes designed to remove petroleum coke from the Delayed Coking Unit which is comprised of large silos that empty into a pit. The company also provides safe and efficient transportation of the petroleum coke from the DCU to a barge load-out system using heavy equipment and conveyor systems.
This operation is a part of the Refinery Services group of the Refinery and Energy Services Unit. This person will report to the Operations Manager of the Norco, LA facility. Occasional travel will be necessary for the purpose of attending management meetings, training, customer contact, etc. at various locations throughout the United States.

•College or Tech School a plus
•3-5 years supervision and industry experience
TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) a huge plus

Responsibilities / Job Duties:
•Gains competency and utilizes the S7 Delivery System
•Ensures reliable and cost effective operations
•Responsible for effective day to day operations
•Responsible for maintaining a safe work place and cleanliness standards
•Represent the company and "Best Value – No Worry" service commitment to our customer
•Responsible for supporting operation's preventive maintenance (PM) program
•Assists Maintenance prioritizing repair work orders and planning the work
•Maintains key performance indicators for Operation activities
•Maintains the standard operating procedures and is responsible for training and training record keeping
•Understands, implements, and enforces all Company policies, procedures, and standards
•Ensures compliance with federal, state, and industrial standards in safety and regulatory requirements including PSM

•Strong oral and written communication skills;
•Ability to lead a diversified workforce;
•Must be willing to work any shift;
•Being a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week operation it is important that this individual is capable of and willing to be on call as necessary;
•Leads by example in all aspects of the business;
•Must provide a positive representation of the company to our customers and employees;
•Has the ability to manage multiple, ever changing tasks;
•Must be able to operate heavy equipment or train to do so;
•Must be experienced in conveyor system maintenance.

Other Important Qualities:
•A self starter who can budget time and resources and is able to work with minimal supervision;
•Hands on leader with strong operational and technical skills;
•Must be a strong leader who is able to solve problems and make decisions;
•Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with team members and customers;
•Computer literate including; word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, email, etc.;
•Strong record keeping skills in the areas of personnel, maintenance and other regulatory areas;
•A strong desire to understand, embrace, teach and foster the company culture.
