The Systems Application Engineer will be responsible for the development and oversight of integration of power electronic systems (Renewable Energy sources, MPPT, DC/DC converters, Rectifiers, and DC loads) used for integration into commercial building applications to power DC loads. The individual will work closely with the customer to design an appropriate system using readily available products and ensure the components specified will meet the necessary requirements. The individual will be responsible for launching the system at the customer location.
Education / Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or higher
Knowledge of UL/CE standards for testing and rating power electronics a plus
Experience designing electrical systems that comply with North American and International codes and standards
Superior interpersonal skills
Possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
Effective interaction with other engineering discipline skills a must
Ability to Travel (varies based on project requirements)
Responsible for the implementation of concepts in the field of AC and DC power conversion
Development of requirements from customers that lead into a system level design
Interfaces with internal/external contacts to include vendors, subcontractors and prime contractors on technical matters
Develop program time lines in Microsoft Project integrating specific details of component installation along with critical path items.
Come up with and integrate solutions for critical path items.
Participate in system application design reviews, monitor and address any design changes associated to changes in specification, taking care to foresee and prevent unintended consequences
Independently performs field installation and test activities
Assists as required with technical proposals and cost estimates related to contract changes and new projects
Develops project related requirements for products from customer specifications for new or modified designs
Provides and develops accurate material lists for both internal and external requirements on projects
Keeps abreast of technologies used by the company, industry to remain current and prepared for technology changes within the work environment
Provides input to schedules and cost to complete for project assignments
You must possess a private driver’s license, pass an employment test and undergo a reference or security check.
