The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the launch and marketing management of the Device and reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Principal responsibilities:
· Develop and implement market launch plans, including analysis, sales forecasts, budgets, objectives, tactics, contingencies, and measures to achieve company targets
· Lead cross-functional teams to develop and deliver promotional programs to drive adoption
· Establish basis for differentiation relative to competitive behavior and market trends
· Collaborate with Field Sales management and sales professionals to evaluate and validate the effectiveness of device marketing strategies and programs, and to gain key customer acceptance of device.
· Extend existing and develop new key opinion leader relationships to develop marketing initiatives, drive product utilization, and review clinical and economic publications related to spine surgery options and treatment
· Prepare and implement key marketing event plans (e.g., conventions, sales training/meetings) with measures of effectiveness
· Continuously monitor and review all aspects of his/her area of responsibility as it relates to new product additions, product deletions, product improvements, competitive activity, profit improvement/cost reduction, market improvement, pricing activity, product quality, and legal ramifications
· Lead and develop one to two direct reports
· Operate within all company and compliance guidelines
Position qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
· A minimum of 12 years of progressive medical device marketing/sales experience is required
o This experience must include a minimum of seven years of surgical medical device marketing and a minimum of five years of sales and/or marketing management experience in the spinal surgery implant segment
· Experience in a sales/marketing leadership role in launching a novel medical device to the spinal surgeon, which required change in surgical technique, is required. This should include the pre-launch planning, execution of the launch, and tangible measures of success
· A minimum of five years of people management experience is required
· Demonstrated results in evaluating spine surgery market opportunities and segments and developing core campaigns/messages and measures to achieve desired change in surgical practice and technique
· Extensive knowledge and experience in pricing, reimbursement, and payer message development is required
· Experience in defining marketing programs that detail investment requirements, sales revenue, profit forecasts, and return on investment is required
· Experience in working closely with other customer-focused functions to achieve results is required (e.g., Field Sales, Field Clinical, Medical Affairs, Professional Education, Sales Training)
· Strong written, public speaking, and presentation skills are required
· This position requires the ability to travel up to 50% of the time
