Partners In Action is assisting a nationally recognized architectural, design, and consulting firm in their search for a full-time Architectural CAD Technician-Drafter to join their Lansing office. The Architectural CAD Technician-Drafter will support a broad range of architectural projects in both new construction and renovation from planning and design inception through construction completion.

This architect firm has served a diverse group of clients since 1965 from their offices in Michigan and Arizona, their headquarters being in Ann Arbor. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex architectural construction drawings for new construction and renovation projects
  • Develop detailed construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit
  • Design technical architectural solutions for new construction and renovation projects
  • Develop and draft architectural details and plans in accordance with client-specific standards
  • Performs fieldwork, documentation, research and drafting tasks of architectural project data
  • Participate in shop drawing review and team or project meetings
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with project team, consultants, and clients
  • Maintains proper project filing in accordance with the company and/or client-specific standards
  • Maintains and complies with the company’s project standards
  • Competent project time and expense documentation skills
  • Reports to the Project Manager in charge of assigned project

Essential Functions

  • Advanced knowledge of construction techniques, construction documents, and computer- aided design concepts
  • Advanced CAD/BIM drafting skills required.
  • Technical proficiency in Revit required.
  • Technical ability to develop, coordinate, and review construction documents for design solutions
  • General understanding of building codes and ADA requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
  • Consistent ability to successfully meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Education or Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree of architecture or related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in an architectural firm
  • 5+ years of 2D and 3D experience in AutoCAD Architecture and Revit
