OCE has an immediate opening for an Information Systems Specialist 4 (ISS4) working at the Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI) in Ontario, Oregon. This position provides vital IT support to our 150+ seat contact (call) center. The ideal candidate would possess a knowledge of information technology which includes planning, coordination, analysis, and technical functions.

Applicants must successfully pass a Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) criminal and civil court background checks, pre-employment drug screening, and successfully complete a twelve month probationary period. An annual criminal background review is a condition of employment. This position is represented by the Association of Oregon Corrections Employees (AOCE) union. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIIES
This position provides Information Technology (IT) support and production coordination to OCE Contact Center clients, staff, and Adults In Custody (AIC) assigned to the work unit. Other duties and responsibilities include the following:
Customer Assistance: Participates in the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the call center. Expedite customer service and assistance daily. Responsible for assigning inmate workers to clients efficiently.
Operations: Responsible for the maintenance and testing of computer and/or telephone system equipment located on the AIC accessed network at the contact center including hardware and software.
Production Oversight: Supervise , assign projects, track work hours, monitor calls, and provide support for AIC’s. Responsible for screening, hiring, training and discipline of AIC’s.
Planning: Actively participate with the statewide IT team by attending weekly meetings. Consults with IT Manager and staff to analyze and recommend computer system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope, the priority of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions for the contact center. Will provide support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
This position typically works in a contact center environment, in a correctional facility, working at a computer terminal for long periods of time, in or around noise that could be distracting. Duties will include lifting PCs, servers, and other computer equipment. Remove, replace, or upgrade network components. Bending, crawling, reaching under desks and computer workstations, and physical manipulation of large objects may be required. Business needs will vary and may require working irregular hours or shift work (weekends, evenings and holidays). Incumbent will work closely with AIC’s in a correctional facility.
