The primary objective of this role is to gather and disseminate important content relating to OPEX products, markets, the company, and other important initiatives undertaken by company departments. To accomplish this, the Social Media Content Manager / Curator (SMCM) will be expected to lead content curation and creation efforts across all OPEX communication and digital channels. This includes, but is not limited to LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The SMCM must be on intimate terms with the inner workings of all major social platforms and know how to fashion and push content to each in the most effective way. They must be agile and willing to modify their methodologies as these platforms change frequently.

The SMCM should be a highly motivated, creative individual who demonstrates a passion for connecting with current and future customers. They should thrive on communicating the OPEX brand in a positive, authentic way that will attract today’s modern, hyper-connected buyer in a B2B context.

Social media strategy responsibilities include:

  • Creating the social media strategy
  • Planning social media campaigns
  • Working with internal stakeholders
  • Managing change and adopting social media into the corporate culture
  • Working with marketing team members to integrate different activities

Social media implementation responsibilities include:

  • Managing social media campaigns and day-to-day activities
  • Managing presence in social networking sites
  • Seeding content into social networks
  • Writing content
  • Setting Google alerts and actively researching industry content
  • Brand advocacy
  • Managing a blogger outreach/guest blogger program
  • Posting and commenting on relevant blogs
  • Creating and uploading videos
  • Engaging in conversations and answering questions
  • Creating and maintaining a social media editorial calendar and posting schedule

Social media monitoring responsibilities include:

  • Developing benchmark metrics to measure the results of social media programs
  • Analyzing and evaluating social media campaigns and strategies
  • Reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns
  • Monitoring trends in social media
  • Monitoring the activities of OPEX’s channel partners, competitors and customers in social media
  • Monitoring social spaces for brand and related topics and conversations
  • Understanding how our social media outreach is impacting search traffic

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, New Media or Public Relations
  • Minimum of five (5) years proven work experience in a B2B social media marketing environment
  • Experience in developing a social media strategy
  • Proficient in all facets of the social media campaign lifecycle: strategy, implementation and analytics
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), their respective audiences, and how each platform can be effectively deployed
  • Working understanding of the principles of traditional marketing
  • Experience developing/sourcing content, content curation, content aggregation and publishing

Technical Skills

  • Knowledgeable in social analytics tools
  • Possesses technical skills and is quick to pick up new social media automation and analytic tools
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the principles of SEO/SEM. Understands “Search and Social”
  • Able to logically communicate analytic reports and campaign results to management
  • Possesses functional knowledge and/or personal experience with Content Management Systems (i.e.: ExpressionEngine).
  • Understands web design, web development, CRO and SEO
