ONMEDIA photojournalists working with video must have a solid journalism background, either a communications degree or equivalent work experience, and must be able to capture stories in an honest and compelling manner. The video photographer must be able to shoot sports, news, features and lifestyle stories in both still images and video. The work requires long hours on tight deadlines, so a passion for the field and a proficiency with the equipment and software are necessary. Video photographers are also entering other areas of specialty, such as wedding photography and commercial work, and the same experience applies in these positions as in the case of an ONMEDIA photojournalist.
This job is at our studio office in Toronto, Ontario. The start date for the position is immediate.
This job is a partial-paid three month internship to start, leading into a full time job. As a digital journalist you will present yourself to clients as a friendly, competent and responsible representative of ONMEDIA. As our Video Photographer, You must have
Confidence in your photography ability
The ability to create and edit video using Final Cut
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Music Experience or knowledge
Strong written and verbal skills
