The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for all aspects of the proper functioning of the corporation’s technology infrastructure, including the on-going assessment, development, execution and management of technology strategies, policies, resources and associated budget. The Director is responsible for ensuring that technology solutions are effectively aligned with the business objectives of the corporation, as well as, the objectives of client-delivered technology services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills, ability and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
Ø IT planning and implementation responsibilities include, but not limited to, project budgets, business systems solutions, short-term/long-term enterprise, departmental and field office strategies, technology vendor/partner relationships, organizational governance (employee IT policies), back-office and user protocols, data security, data protection and disaster recovery.
Ø Identifies and pursues efficiency opportunities, in concert with IT staff, corporate management, company business units, corporate clients and technology vendors/partners.
Ø Responsible for the selection, acquisition, development, implementation, management, upgrade and maintenance of all technology infrastructure components, hardware systems and software. Conducts post-implementation reviews to ensure deliverables and benefits are achieved. Ensure highest level of functionality and uptime on a 24/7 basis.
Ø Responsible for the management and completion of technology projects (including risk, quality, security, data integrity, scheduling, vendor/partner resources acquisition and oversight, and financial management) in accordance with accepted corporate, audit, and industry standards and requirements. Work effectively with all parties and foster a teamwork environment within IT, as well as, across other business units.
Ø Responsible for IT resource management duties, such as employee hire and development, talent and performance management, compensation, retention and corrective action in compliance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources, as appropriate.
Ø Provide leadership in the effective use of innovative and emerging technologies, including e-commerce, B2B, document imaging/management, virtualization/cloud computing, collaboration, and wireless/remote computing.
Ø Manage vendor contracts and maintenance agreements for software and computer / network equipment.
Ø Manage all database conversions and data exports pertaining to the in-house claims system(s). Work in close concert with the claims application vendor(s) to maintain, customize and continually improve the system.
Ø Perform the role of IT spokesperson for company. Present and discuss company’s IT strategy to prospective and existing clients, and business partners, as necessary.
Supervising, scheduling, assigning, monitoring and evaluating work of assigned staff are responsibilities for supervisory positions.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ø Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Business with course work in information technology, preferred
Ø Ten years experience in Information Technology
Ø Four years in a supervisory or manager level
Ø Five years in financial services or insurance related work, preferred.
Ø Prior project management experience, including successfully setting priorities, meeting schedules, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ø Strong experience with the implementation of technical application and communications across multiple locations and companies using current technology
Ø Strong experience in client/server and web-based technology, including developing over multiple platforms, making client/server and web design decisions and integrating various technologies
Ø Strong experience with computer operations and LAN/WAN systems management
Ø Strong knowledge of Windows server systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, VMWare, NetApp SAN technology and Citrix Metraframe and Web-based services
Ø Understanding of networks, network security, network architecture, data security and operating systems
Ø Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well
Ø Ability to assess problems and situations, possesses analytic ability and good judgment
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate & present well
