RESIDENTIAL– Energy Specialist
This position is a contractor position in a large NJ based Utility. Primary responsibilities will include; support the Energy Efficiency group in the implementation of residential programs. This position requires advanced knowledge of energy savings techniques and energy using systems for residential customers. The ideal candidate needs to be knowledgeable of residential energy savings measures, knowledgeable of new and current technologies and trends. Project management and technical aptitude and analytical skills are important to support the diverse needs of the Energy Efficiency Team.
Demonstrated experience managing projects of high complexity, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the scope and/or resources, and overseeing the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance. Perform random onsite monitoring of vendors work and prepare written reports on findings. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused, to appropriately identify and respond to clients business needs, facilitate the presentation of recommendations, effectively present complex and/or technical information to a wide audience, and guide discussions toward the attainment of mutually acceptable goals and outcomes. Must demonstrate the ability to accurately analyze information, make strategic decisions/recommendations, and guide others decision making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives. Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative, be accountable for individual and team results, and motivate self and others to set and achieve high performance standards. Must demonstrate the ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management enterprise-wide to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. This position will require a valid driver’s license.
The successful candidate will provide technical support to the Energy Efficiency Team. The candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the work that supports the Residential programs. This includes managing and reporting of financial, budgetary and other performance goals related to the work completed. This includes being accountable for simple pay-back calculations and ensuring practices are put in place to monitor and collect payments.
The Residential program measures include, but are not limited to, blower door test and analysis, installation of energy savings measures such as insulation, programmable thermostats and installation of compact fluorescent lamps.
Qualifications for this position include the following:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• BPI Certifications in Building Analyst, Envelope, Heating and Cooling
• Having demonstrated the ability to manage program vendors and other delivery contractors.
• Knowledgeable of residential energy savings measures and techniques.
• Knowledgeable of new and current technologies and trends.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Working knowledge of PC applications.
• Demonstrated ability to network and maintain partnerships with key trade allies, industry professionals, regulators, etc.
Experience in marketing and financial analysis, product management, strategic account management, business development and/or client relationship management is a plus.
Pay is $35/hr
