Drone Technician

We are hiring a Drone Technician to assist in the repair and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). A background in electronics and electrical engineering is preferred. Advanced soldering skills are required. Full training will be provided. The Drone Technician will be supporting the Senior Technicians and Technical Manager on the smooth operation of the service department.

The technician will be responsible for submitting drone work orders efficiently and accurately using the company provided work order form. Regularly communicating by e-mail, phone, and in person with team members, inventory managers, technical specialists, dispatch, lead service techs, and executive managers. Accurately recording time spent and parts used for each job and each drone. The technician will also be required to maintain the company’s service area in a clean, organized, and cost-effective manner. Assuming responsibility for quality repairs with minimal/no callbacks. Regularly observing and assessing customer needs. Recommending additional products and services to clients and working with executive structure to deliver customer requests.

Experience maintaining technological equipment through hardware and software. Must be adequate in using basic electronics repair tools. Specialty tools will be provided. Solid organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required. Computer literacy and technological knowledge required. Positive attitude and well-groomed professional appearance required. Must be a team player and possess excellent customer service skills. Should possess strong enthusiasm working with high technology drones.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and test fly various drones and unmanned aerial vehicles;
• Uses a variety of test equipment to identify problems and malfunctions; interprets diagrams, schematics, and service manuals;
• Repairs and replaces electronic components and mechanical parts;
• Develops preventive maintenance schedules and procedures; performs preventive maintenance on various devices;
• Record problem diagnosis and technical summary;
• Provides technical assistance regarding electronic and mechanical parts malfunctions and advises on corrective procedures.
• Maintain inventories of parts and equipment; provide technical assistance to equipment users; perform related work.
• Assist in other administrative tasks as necessary.

Requirements:

• Advanced soldering skills are required
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and technological aptitude required.
• Experience maintaining technological equipment through hardware and software

• Basic Windows + Mac experience
