Job Summary: Directs the daily operation of a medium to large-sized credit union branch, ensuring the branch works in support of the credit union mission, meeting and exceeding member service expectations, following all compliance standards, along with growing the membership base, growing deposits and growing lending.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Business Development – develops plans and executes on plans to grow deposits, membership and loan growth
  • Visits parishes, schools, and Catholic organizations to develop and coddle business relationships
  • Resolves all member disputes satisfactorily balancing the member’s and the credit union’s points of view
  • Profiles members to understand and meet current and future needs, cross selling credit union products and building strong, solid member relationships
  • Conducts financial education sessions with members as needed and to elevate member’s financial acumen
  • Opens all types of member accounts, takes consumer and mortgage loan applications and closes the loan
  • Hires, trains, coaches, disciplines and directs all branch personnel
  • Ensure adequate staff levels to provide exceptional member service
  • Completes and administers performance evaluations and recommends employee career pathing and wages
  • Holds regular employee meetings to provide continuous performance feedback to staff
  • Develop and manage monitoring tools within branch to ensure goals are met and tracked, including transaction volume, balancing records, teller referrals and new account openings etc.
  • Build programs to increase team work and enhance employee morale throughout the branch, ensuring a cohesive cross-trained team
  • Monitor branch operating results relative to established objectives noting what works well to achieve and exceed objectives and making adjustments to correct any unsatisfactory conditions
  • Conduct periodic branch audits ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and government regulations
  • Ensures adequate supplies are on hand, including cash for vault and ATM, promotional materials and other necessary items to run the branch efficiently
  • Recommends and oversees the branch budget
  • Complete responsibility for security within the branch. Includes being part of the Alarm ‘call-team’
  • Monitors safety and security policies on an on-going basis recommending enhancements and provide on-going training on security and robbery procedures

Job Requirements:

  • High School degree required, Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 3 years working as a bank branch or credit union manager must include supervision of employees
  • Must have NMLS license and understand the mortgage loan process from the bank’s side
  • Professional demeanor exhibiting diplomacy and tact
  • Demonstrated proficiency selling savings and lending products, with superb closing and follow through techniques
