We are seeking a Podiatry Nurse Practitioner to become a part of our team! You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assess patient foot health by interviewing patients; performing physical foot examinations; and obtaining, updating, and reviewing medical histories.
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
  • Determine abnormal foot conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests such as x-rays and laboratory studies.
  • Interpret test results of diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
  • Perform therapeutic foot procedures by suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as warranted
  • Communicate with referring provider or specialist regarding patient care
  • Counsel patients and caregivers by describing therapeutic regimens and promoting foot wellness and foot health maintenance.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and employee/co-worker information.
  • Additional Responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
  • No Overnight Calls

TRAVEL:

  • 100% Required to provide foot care to patients at their residences.

QUALIFICATION:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination is required as we will be working with vulnerable populations.
  • EDUCATION: Master’s degree in nursing. Evidence of completion of an RN program and Massachusetts State Licensure required. OR. Graduate of an accredited PA educational program, including National Certification and Massachusetts State Licensure.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, medical history notes, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Experience in Podiatry, wounds, and/or care of the older adult desired.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft word and Excel programs required.
  • Proficiency in using general office equipment and procedure knowledge required.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients from all socioeconomic status.
  • Ability to thrive in providing care in patient's home without judgement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

SCHEDULE: 8 hour shift, 40 hours/week. 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm

WORK LOCATION: Provide podiatry care at patient's private homes, assisted living, senior centers, and other locations. Visiting patient's home will be based on North Shore, South Shore, Boston and surrounding towns, and some towns West of Boston.

TERRITORY WE COVER: Suffolk County; Norfolk County; Bristol County: Easton, Mansfield, Norton; Plymouth County: Brockton, Abington, Bridgewater, Duxbury, Pembroke, Rockland, Hanover, Norwell, Scituate, Hingham, Hull, Plymouth, Whitman, Marshfield. Middlesex County: Framingham, Natick, Wayland, Sudbury, Weston, Newton, Waltham, Watertown, Cambridge, Belmont, Lexington, Arlington, Somerville, Medford, Everett, Malden, Winchester, Burlington, Billerica, Wakefield, Reading, Melrose Essex County: Nahant

Nyota Medical Footcare, PLLC is a mobile podiatry practice that provides at home prevention-focused foot care services. We deliver foot care that is holistic, inclusive and empowering for you and your family. Our providers specializes in trimming various types of toenails, removal of calluses and corns, treating simple wounds, and evaluating foot and toe pain.
In addition to caring for the feet, we remove cerumen (ear wax) and trim fingernails for patients who are unable to perform them independently.
