Infrastructure Chief Engineer on the JRDC program in support of the Missile Defense Agency's Missile Defense Integration & Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever AFB.
The MDIOC is a 24x7 facility supporting missile defense simulation, testing, and operations. The Chief Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates all facility engineering activities and services concerned with the operation, repair, maintenance, and modification of the MDIOC facility and building systems (electrical power distribution, UPS, HVAC, chilled water, fire alarm and suppression, water, sewer, etc.) in order to maintain reliability, minimize interruption, and improve efficiency. Provides engineering expertise and leadership. Provides strategic vision and responsible for the technical content of Technical Data Packages (TDPs), specifications, requirements documents, trade study reports, and technical products. Ensures the quality of engineering artifacts and products. Responsible for the development and sustainment of facility design and installation standards/guidelines, as well as departmental protocols, procedures, and policies. Responsible for the development of the facility sustainment plan to identify building systems that are, or will be, in need of repair, replacement or upgrade due to reliability issues, end-of-life, lack of capacity, or other reasons. Chairs the Facilities Engineering Review Board to ensure proposed designs meet all requirements, codes, laws, and applicable standards. Perform personnel management for engineering staff to include performance feedback, conflict resolution, determine staffing levels, and developing position descriptions / requisitions.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and 25 years of experience with 5 years being in a supervisory roll. Years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree. Requires experience in construction, electrical, and HVAC systems. Familiarity with applicable national, state, and DoD building codes and regulations required. Candidate must possess strong leadership and
team building skills. Candidate must be able to successfully multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well in a team environment, have strong interpersonal skills, and have a positive, can-do attitude.
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 20 years of experience. Professional Engineer certification. Knowledge of proposal, contract, and budget practices are highly desirable. A strong systems engineering and project management background are valuable as well.
