Job Description

Northern Insulation is looking for a Field Superintendent. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating insulation installation duties, materials, and equipment schedules to meet customer demand, while managing quality, overtime, equipment maintenance, and being compliant with company policies and safety procedures. Candidate must be able to manage multiple insulation projects, installs, and clean up. Must have the ability to problem solve on the fly and drive team towards completing tasks in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of insulation installation, cleaning operations, and crew members.
  • Follows directions of owner and sales team and clarifies installer responsibilities when needed.
  • Respects self, co-workers, managers, company, other contractors, and clients.
  • Takes care of company owned or rented equipment returning it in like manor.
  • Willing to go the extra mile for the team.
  • Team leader – Able to lead & motivate a team of insulators; willing to do what it takes to make the team successful; works well with others.
  • Motivated to learn new skills.
  • Strong communication with personnel and other contractors in a professional manner.
  • Familiar with various types of insulation.
  • Executes work according to bid, safely, and with high quality.
  • Resolves issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assists with customer relationship management.
  • Continuously improves processes for more effective and efficient outcomes.
  • Monitors and evaluates the completion of work in the field to ensure work is meeting or exceeding our standards for excellence.
  • Ensure employees working at the jobsites are following proper protocols.
  • Intervene as necessary to correct quality control or address safety issues.
  • Ensures compliance of OSHA and Company Safety policies and programs.
  • Is 100% committed to making sure all employees go home safe.
  • Shows up on time and ready to complete work.
  • Responsible for dispatching out insulation crews each morning
  • Promptly investigates customer complaints and makes necessary corrections or coordinates changes in a timely manner.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Additional Job Qualifications:

  • Able to walk through construction sites.
  • Work in tight places including attics and crawlspaces.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist and turn body at shoulders, waist, knees, climb stairs and ladders, use hands and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Not afraid of heights.
  • Ability to lift/carry/maneuver heavy product and equipment.
  • Capable of motivating a team and developing rapport with co-workers.
  • Ability to identify product by product numbers and alpha/numeric codes.
  • Working knowledge of DOT/OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to work outside in the weather/elements year-round. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to and must be able to adapt to ALL outside weather and job site conditions, which may include air borne particles, vibration, and fumes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Use common hand tools; including but not limited to scissors, utility knife, saws, pliers, and stapling hammer.
  • Bilingual.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years supervisor/construction management experience preferred
  • 2+ years Insulation installation/Construction industry experience preferred

Certificates and License:

  • Valid CDL C (Preferred/Willing to obtain within 6 months)
  • DOT Medical Card
  • Forklift Certification (encouraged not required)

Work Availability:

  • This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday and overtime work required. Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
  • This position may require travel
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management.
