  • Responsible for project and maintenance reliability of EIC systems within an industrial environment manufacturing engineered wood particle board. This position will report to the Electrical Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for the electronics/control engineering function at the facility.


    • Design, specify, start, validate, monitor, and troubleshoot EIC systems including Sensor Specification and performance, PLC logic, electrical drives and motor controls.

    • Ensure that control hardware and software, installation, PLC/HMI programming, and operational requirements meet specifications, codes, and end-user expectations.

    • Work cross-functionally with other departments and across other engineering disciplines to design and detail industrial processes, motor controls, instrumentation, and power systems that meet business requirements.

    • Program, troubleshoot, and configure Allen Bradley (Rockwell) PLC/HMI control systems

    • Detail control strategy for process areas, communicate, educate, and train technicians and managers on processes, equipment, and standards.

    • Problem-solve in process engineering issues and/or design issues by applying controls theory and engineering principles.

    • Manage 3rd party contractors and firms from a project management standpoint on the installation and commissioning of electronic control systems and related electrical maintenance.


    • Associates or Bachelors of Science in Electronic Engineering preferred

    • Ability to work non-traditional hours based on facility needs for commissioning and uploading

    • Minimum of 4+ year of experience developing motor controls programming for PLC controls and electrical drives

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

    • Demonstrated problem solving ability with root cause analysis required

    • Minimum of 4+ year of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment

    Working conditions

    Role requires a person to work in working conditions such as heat, cold, snow, rain, ice, frost, humidity, severe storms and so forth. Special working conditions may include regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working outdoors, working as a team regardless of challenge, and so forth. Exposure to noise, dirt, grease, water and sawdust is common.

    Physical requirements

    Physical ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, working at heights up to 30 feet above the ground, lifting up to 20 pounds (from floor to shoulder height), stooping, and bending, carrying up to 20 pounds at least 40 feet.
