Nitta Gelatin a multi-site manufacturing company is seeking a Sales and Marketing Manager -Food and Pharma Ingredients to join our team.

Some responsibilities include but not limited to:

Responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with assigned account portfolio, connecting with all stakeholders, from key decision makers to technical/QA to logistics personnel. This position is liaison between customers and the internal support team at Nitta Gelatin, with the objective to ensure timely and successful delivery of product according to customer needs


  • Represent Nitta Gelatin in a professional manner, applying the corporate philosophy always.

  • Profitably manage sales of Nitta Gelatin products. Meet volume, sales, and profitability targets in the territory for gelatin and collagen peptides.

  • Market Nitta Gelatin products; identify or develop appropriate product, pricing and logistics for each customer

  • Manage customer relationships; coordinate contracts, negotiations, quotes, orders, forecasts, technical issues, projects, logistics with internal personnel.

  • Develop new customers and maintain potential customer relationships according to company targets and objectives

  • Participate in creating annual budget, market strategy and sales plan

  • Maintain sales planning tools and communications in a timely fashion: forecasting, orders, weekly/monthly reports, project management as required by management

  • Maintain files on customers, trade shows, reports, etc. in CRM as required by management (trip reports, specifications, supply agreements, etc.)

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the food, beverage and nutritional supplement markets and the competitive environment to facilitate business development and to keep other team members informed of changes and developments in the market

Performance Metrics

  • Achieve sales budget goals set by NGNA management

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings to meet company standards

  • Develop new customers as outlined in company targets

  • Build and manage an opportunity pipeline to support territory growth targets.

  • Good working relationship with internal colleagues: management, customer service, sales team, technical/QA and production planners


  • Minimum of five years of sales and/or business development calling on food, beverage, and nutritional supplement companies and deep understanding of, and contact in, those markets. Gelatin or texturant knowledge would be a plus

  • Proven ability to sell ingredients to multiple buying influences (including purchasing, marketing, and R&D;

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence effectively, to meet customer needs and employer objectives

  • Confirmed experience handling multiple projects or tasks at one time.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.

  • BA/BS in business or food science related degree

  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with preferred

  • 40-60% domestic travel; occasional international travel; must have valid passport.,

  • Work from home location in the Midwest

  • Other duties as assigned.
