The Database Programmer/Analyst administers and expands District data systems, including databases, business intelligence systems, and reporting services. The Database Programmer/Analyst also develops programs and scripts for the transfer, consolidation, distribution, and usability of District data. The Database Programmer/Analyst works in a predominantly Microsoft Server environment with limited interaction with other programming and database environments such as PHP and MYSQL.
Extensive knowledge, ability, and skill in the administration, installation, repair, and support of database technology. This includes, but is not limited to; database monitoring, database design, database patch/upgrade implementation, database backups, and data transfers (ETL).
Database technology may include, but is not limited to, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2012, Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft Access, and MySQL.
Extensive knowledge, ability, and skill in the development, distribution, and
administration of reports and reporting systems. This includes, but is not limited to, database query design, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), GIS development, online dashboards, and Microsoft Excel and PowerPivot.
Extensive knowledge, ability, and skill in programming and scripting complex computer, data, and web systems. This includes, but is not limited to, programming languages such as SQL, T-SQL, VB, Bourne/Bash, and PHP.
Extensive knowledge, ability, and skill in customer service, project management, teamwork, and technical communication. This includes, but is not limited to, communicating effectively with technical and non-technical staff, working with external vendors, collaborating with peers, meeting deadlines, and providing updates on outstanding projects and issues.
Enthusiasm for technology. This includes, but is not limited to, adapting to continually changing requirements and technology, recognizing alternative solutions, seeking business process improvements, and advocating for innovation.
BA in Computer Science
No criminal conviction which may, in the sole judgment of the District, constitute a threat to property or the safety of others.
