Job Classification:

Full Time, Support Staff, Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator

The Administrative Assistant, under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator, will provide staff support in the areas of ministries and administration and will directly manage the receptionist area.

Responsibilities: Receptionist

· Maintains and monitors the organization and cleanliness of the Reception Area, the front lobby and the Green Room

· Greets visitors and callers in a professional and courteous manner

· Receives mail, signs for all packages and delivers them to the appropriate person

· Takes messages and forwards all calls to the appropriate person

· Maintains and monitors the daily visitor sign-in and sign-out book

· Maintains the phone system and is responsible for turning it on and off daily at the opening and close of the business day

Responsibilities: Ministries

  • Inputs new/updating members and visitor information into the church management software

· Provides written documentation for those seeking benevolence; Makes necessary copies and forwards them to Care and Member Engagement Division leader

  • Manages distribution and printing of baby dedication, funeral resolutions, baptism certificates and marriage ministry certificates of completion

· Assists in supporting ministries and ministry programs

· Generates correspondence for bereavement notifications, baby dedication and baptism as necessary

  • Serve as needed for funerals and repasts held at New Mercies

Responsibilities: Administration

· Manages the collection of weekly onscreen, pulpit and website announcements and its distribution to the marketing department weekly for Worship Service.

· Assists marketing with the organizing and fulfillment of merchandise

· Assists in the execution of corporate events

· Prepares distribution of Marketing and Finance materials for each worship service

· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word & Excel

· Experience in organizing multiple projects and events

· Highly organized and flexible

· Exemplary oral and written skills

· Ability to multi-task

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Friendly and patient demeanor

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
