Growing financial institution on Long Island is seeking a driven and results oriented Manager responsible for the Collections Department. He/she will be responsible for managing all aspects and responsibilities of the collections cycle for a team of collectors. The individual maintains accountability for compliance with all laws, regulations and policies governing our industry.

Tasks Required:
•Responsible for maintaining acceptable delinquency levels of the existing portfolio. Monitors, reviews, and reports performance and delinquency trends.
•Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations and policies and procedures relative to collections.
•Demonstrates and maintains an up-to-date knowledge of and ensures on-going compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
•As a member of the management team, one of the primary means to achieve this purpose is to also develop a highly effective team of associates and develop each associate to their highest potential through coaching and demonstrated leadership skills. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members.
•Plans, organizes, directs and controls the department’s daily activities to provide the best possible service to the members while protecting the assets of the organization.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years Collections experience in a management capacity.
•Have a proven track record of increasing recoveries with consumer banking products/mortgages and ability to quantify/track results.
•Develop, mentor, and motivate staff to reach goal targets
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•Ability to multi-task.
•Strong analytical skills required including intermediate Excel skills.
•Superior communication, interpersonal, and analytical/problem solving skills.
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC platform including intermediate Excel skills.
