Morris Industrial Construction has immediate openings for AWS D1.1 Certified Welders. We are looking for welders, who are not afraid of heights (entry level and experienced climbers/welders). MIC provides training and additional required certifications for climbing, as well as the necessary equipment and transportation (company vehicle). Growth and advancement opportunities are available for those who demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in their position. In addition to work pay and travel pay, MIC pays per diem pay for incidentals. This position performs general repair, maintenance, upgrades and re-fabrications on communications towers, requiring travel and the ability to climb and weld to heights up to 300 feet.
•Performs general repairs, maintenance, upgrades and modification to towers and other structures as directed •Pick-up/delivery of supplies, tools, equipment, components, etc., via Company vehicle •Efficiently prioritizes and performs job requirements and activities based on open communication with the field personnel and management personnel •Effectively utilizes available resources, technology, and tools to complete work •Adheres to all driving requirements as determined by State and Federal legislation •Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as additional legal regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA). •Maintains company vehicle in a clean and presentable condition •Properly follows all safety procedures and policies •The position requires extensive travel, weeks away from office location (via company vehicle) to include weekends •Work well in a team environment •Maintain safety and quality standards
•Must be AWS D1.1 Certified to thicknesses up to 1.25”, CWI certification is a plus •High School Diploma •Ability to perform quality structural welding at heights in excess of 300 feet •Ability to analyze and solve problems •Good oral and written communication skills •Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with workers, other department employees, and the general public •Ability to read and interpret sketches and blueprints •Demonstrate a willingness to learn •Physical ability and the willingness to climb towers in excess of 200 feet •Physical ability to lift >50 lbs. and be comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
About Morris Industrial Construction:
Morris Industrial Construction was started in 2000.to service industrial construction field. Working in paper mills, chemical plants, saw mills, kaolin plants. We preformed piping and equipment installation, steel work, tank work and structural steel work. Later that year we also started in the wireless industry.
In 2003 we began working solely in the wireless industry installing cell phone systems including the following: L&A work, Sweep testing, fabrication and installation of equipment platforms, setting equipment shelters, fabrication and installation of tower modifications, fabrication and installation of water tank modifications, mono-pole modifications and roof top installations.
