Lead Software Engineer

Day to Day:

· Still revolved around supporting the MyQ app

· They are part of the middleware group (.Net group) – they sit in the middle of the app –

· MyQ business team – web interface, a lot to do with facility management, industrial – not typical residential application

· MyQ is running in Azure

· Good understanding of programming

· New features for applications coming in the next year – will be responsible for adding new features and sustaining existing middleware for their platforms

Must haves:

· Enterprise level project/company experience - Resumes they usually see with .Net skills but lacking is the enterprise level project experience from the candidates.

· Resumes architecture knowledge, documented database knowledge

· Azure knowledge

· .Net - .Net Core – new frameworks are ideal to experience with

· MQTT / rabbitMQ / related enterprise service messaging systems (messaging system, not related to Azure) – Someone who had worked with this method or framework – if candidates are very strong with Azure and .Net he would consider phone screen if they are missing MQTT

· Managing a small team – open to candidates who are sr .Net ready to take on Lead roles as long as they have good comm skills

· Comm skills: Verbal and writing. Will be working closely with/communicate with product owners and partners to gather requirement

Preferred Skills:

· Architecture experience – but this person will work closely with architecture, doing designs so would be nice to have, but not

Background on Team/Role:

· Managing team of developers (3 middleware devs) – scrum teams (8-9 people) – primarily working with the middleware developers

· NOT managing the scrum team – just working closely with

· Responsible for managing workload of developers on their team

· Working closely with the business and partners – gathering recruiting

· Team is currently managed by 2 managers (Abhijit and Roshan) and Greg has another Manager position to backfill

· Team is about 40-50 people between local and offshore

· Current responsibilities are mobile and middleware backend

· MyQ has 8-9 teams

· Team will support MyQBusiness – which supports commercial side of the business

· Based on where they put this person, will determine which apps/platforms they are supporting – but there won't be much difference in terms of skill set experience

· Agile environment but they typically work in 2 weeks sprints – different teams including front-end, back-end, middleware, scrum

· Abhijit's team is currently made up of 6 developers – onshore – FTE and a few software developers offshore
