Position/ Company Description
This position is responsible for all routine human resources functions, including recruitment and retention of staff (talent management), compensation, benefits, and training. The HR Generalist provides consultation and mediation to to management and business partners regarding staff relations. Develops, recommends and administers policies, procedures and programs that ensure fairness and respect for individuals and legal compliance. Staffing Management, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, Performance Management, HRIS, Compliance, and Payroll systems.

Job Requirements
  • Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Industrial/ Organization Psychology, and a minimum and three (3) years progressively responsible HR generalist experience.
  • SPHR or PHR certified preferred
  • Experience in a large, warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing environment (400 + employees) is preferred.
  • Experienced in International transfers and Visa application process is preferred.
  • Proven ability to function as a business partner with a solid knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  • Analytical and problem solving-skills
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations governing human resources matters.
  • Ability to maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact effectively and work in a collaborative manner with all employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes.
  • Superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of PC and related software programs including creating and utilizing spreadsheets.
  • Experience using integrated HR/Payroll system; knowledge of ADP payroll and reporting products preferred.
Major Areas of Accountability
  • Effective verbal, written communications and presentation skills required to disseminate information in meetings, write policy and procedural/training documents and deliver effective presentations on a variety of HR topics.
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships with all levels of staff in an organization is essential, in particular, collaborative and consultative approach to working with management, with the ability to gain their trust and respect.
  • Computer literacy required to include a proficiency in standard business applications (e.g. in the MS Office Suite), as well as the ability to fully utilize HRIS systems to provide meaningful metrics/ ROI to upper management.
  • Develops, administers, human resources policies and procedures that are legally sound and promote fairness and respect for individuals.
  • Administers compensation programs and associated policies and practices, ensuring competitiveness in the marketplace, internal equity, legal compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provides compensation consulting and recommendations to management. Ensures that job descriptions are developed and maintained for all positions.
  • Responsible for all phases of recruiting for highly qualified individuals. Recommends and manages appropriate recruitment sources. Consults on staffing requirements. Provides staffing and other related reports.
  • Oversees benefit programs, orientation and open enrollment activities.
  • Directs the employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Acts as consultant and mediator to management and staff regarding employment relations matters.
  • Ensures consistent application of HR related policies and procedures.
  • Informs management of staff issues and recommends appropriate action and resolution as deemed necessary.
  • Responds to legal actions related to human resources issues and coordinates with attorneys as needed.
  • Supports HR Manager to ensure legal compliance initiatives are implemented and followed.
  • Participates in Senior Management activities including planning and budgeting; attends management meetings.
  • Develops and coordinates the presentation and execution of training and development initiatives.
  • Ensures efficient and timely reporting and record keeping. Provides ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of human resources trends and legislation that affect human resources practices; communicates and educates as appropriate.
  • Establishes and co-ordinates formal, regular and specific talent management process.
Additional Duties:
  • Participates in a wide variety of project-related activities and initiatives.
  • Serves on cross-functional projects and teams as needed.
