Lionce is currently recruiting for a Senior DevOps Engineer for a great opportunity with one of our partners in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a full time position with a pay rate up to $95,000 a year. For this particular role, our client is only considering either US Citizens or Permanent Residents (either EAD or Green Card).

The client provides cutting edge, customized online math instruction to K-12 students through its award- winning SaaS product. Our high quality software is the 2012 winner of the SIIA CODiE award for Best Mathematics Instructional Solution.

The client, a high-energy web-based education company, seeks a professional, resourceful, hard-working team player to join us in our main Pittsburgh office as a full-time Senior DevOps Engineer. Working with the engineering and senior management staff, the Senior DevOps Engineer will be the primary owner of our production and development Web application infrastructure. This role will architect and implement the client's cloud infrastructure and serve as the primary point of contact for infrastructure and operations resources, as well as our consulting and partner organizations that provide infrastructure support. This person will be responsible for building an maintaining a monitoring and alerting framework in order to support the client's Service Level Agreements with customers.

Desired skills:
Requirements of the Senior DevOps Engineer position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Demonstrable experience with cloud platforms – EC2, Rackspace. We strongly prefer candidates who have managed production infrastructure in a public cloud.
Ideally direct experience managing production applications on heroku
Experience with managing Postgres databases (we are not looking for a DBA though)
Experience with performance tuning and best practices, especially in Rails apps
Experience with supporting Wordpress (or able to argue in favor of a different blog platform)
Experience with git (github is a major plus)
Performance and scale testing solutions such as grinder or Blitz
Exposure to node.js and NoSQL platforms is a plus
Data warehouse tools and techniques
Other tools and monitoring platforms
New Relic
Qualifications and Characteristics:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 5 year + System Administration experience with increasing responsibilities
Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails, CSS, JavaScript, Agile management systems such as Pivotal Tracker or a plus
