Lionce is currently recruiting for an Oracle for a great opportunity with one of our partners in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a contract position with a pay rate up to $60 an hour. For this particular role, our client is only considering either US Citizens or Permanent Residents (either EAD or Green Card) but will consider work authorization for the right candidate.
Administrative support of Oracle Application E-Business environments, with a focus on monitoring and performance tuning. Candidate must be experienced in the following:

  • Oracle application installation, configuration and software upgrades
  • Oracle application performance monitoring and tuning
  • Environment cloning consisting of both application and database tier
  • Production and development environment support
  • Ability to monitor, identify and tune performance bottlenecks within the Oracle application architecture
  • SQL analysis utilizing execution plans with ability to recommend solutions to improve overall query performance
  • Ability to identify and recommend solutions for performance issues within Oracle application
  • Oracle database performance monitoring and tuning
  • Ability to develop, track and report performance measurements for Oracle application and database

Candidate Qualifications

College Degree:Yes Bachelor’sNo
Years of Work Experience:10 years work experience with a minimum of 4 years in Oracle E-Business application support and administration
Professional Skills Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Self-starter demonstrating superior time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to assume responsibility for challenging assignments and extend extra effort necessary to complete critical project schedules

Technical Skills Required:
  • Oracle applications R12 and Oracle database 11g experience
  • Application and database cloning
  • Problem identification and resolution
  • Familiarity with database architecture, both logical and physical design
  • Oracle application and DBMS installation
  • Monitoring and tuning of concurrent managers, forms and report servers, web servers
  • Database monitoring and tuning with ability to implement database strategies to correct resource contention and reduce computing requirements
  • SQL performance and tuning with multiple corrective strategies
  • GRID experience including custom metric defining key indicators of a less than optimal performing application or database
  • Automation of performance monitoring
  • Development and maintenance of monthly and weekly performance reports highlighting performance improvements and areas for improvement
  • Partitioning and compression experience
  • Production support of the eBusiness application, third party software and database
  • UNIX knowledge

Additional Skills/Qualities not required but would be a plus:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Local to the Pittsburgh Area
  • Strong application DBA and traditional DBA skills
