The Recruiter will support the Baton Rouge office by recruiting and hiring caregivers to fill scheduling needs in outlying areas of the region. The successful candidate will:

  • Communicate frequently with Staffing Coordinators and Client Care Managers to assess current labor needs
  • Actively recruit to fill tough-to-hire positions in outlying geographic areas
  • Create and post job openings on hiring boards and within the local community
  • Contact and engage applicants throughout the hiring process, following up frequently
  • Educate applicants on LHCL's services and provide realistic information on the role of Direct Support Worker
  • Screen and interview candidates to find the best possible match for the role available
  • Travel offsite to host interviews or orientation classes as needed
  • Participate in local job fairs to maximize LHCL's presence as an employer in the area
  • Assist with teaching weekly orientation classes
  • Identify and match employees with clients based on availability, location, skills, competencies, and abilities
  • Find and provide staff for new clients as quickly as possible, setting up meet-and-greets with available staff
  • Utilize database system to document notes and communication with staff and families
  • Participate in after hours on-call rotation and serve as backup staff working in-home with clients as needed
  • Comply with all program guidelines and meet requirements established by LDH, Medicaid, and LHCL
  • Model the LHCL values of Compassion, Trust, Integrity, and Accountability
  • Additional tasks related to staffing or recruiting as requested


  • High school diploma required
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred (caregiving, homecare, staffing, or recruiting)
  • Must satisfactorily pass all required and applicable State & Federal eligibility verifications, including background, driving and other record checks
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, & ability to relate to others
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
  • Able to operate office equipment

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday.
