We are a weld assembly and metal stamping Tier 1 manufacturer currently seeking an experienced Materials Manager for our Lebanon, TN facility. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager who is committed to continuous improvement and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
•Leads and directs the activities of inventory control with scheduling to ensure that inventory levels are appropriate.
•Ensure all Customer requirements are scheduled with production for timely delivery.
•Works with Customers to resolve any issues or complaints.
•Train and develop current staff in all facets of supply chain management.
•Establish robust processes related to materials management.
•Contribute to the overall production objectives.
•Oversee and review the sales forecast.
•Coordinate and report standard performance regarding premium transportation costs, cycle counting, etc., as outlined in Material department standards.
•Work with Purchasing and Quality as needed on outside Vendor development/training/performance measurement.
•Seek out cost saving opportunities and coordinate changes with other Managers to maximize these opportunities.
•Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations in accordance with TOSHA and company standards.
Minimum qualifications include Bachelors degree or equivalent materials management experience of 3-5 years in the automotive industry. APICS certification is preferred as well as working knowledge of lean manufacturing.
