The Fairbanks Gold Mining (subsidiary of Kinross) Fort Knox mine is located in one of the largest gold producing areas in Alaska within the Fairbanks Mining District.

Mining is carried out on a year-round basis, seven days a week. The Fort Knox mine operation has about 500 employees.
Kinross is currently seeking Mobile Mechanics to repair and maintain its heavy diesel trucks along with graders and dozers. Some of our fleet include Caterpillar 785s, 789s, and 793s plus Caterpillar 994 loaders, 3600 and 5500 Hitachi shovels.
Key activities involve:
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, modifying, fabricating and repairing mobile and stationary equipment electrical systems, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, drive trains and track equipment undercarriages by using specialized testing equipment and electrical systems knowledge.
Responsible for all tasks related to preventative maintenance program such as reposting fluid leaks, performing lube work, taking fluid samples, inspecting components and parts for proper operation, damage or wear, etc. Repair and replace components and parts as needed.
Experience in mining and heavy industrial equipment repair and maintenance preferably with Caterpillar, Hitachi and Ingersoll Rand software/diagnostic tools
Working knowledge of manuals, schematics and diagnostic tools.
Have a thorough understanding of A/C and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairing and an understanding of VIMS, SIS and ET systems.
Possess good understanding of electrical, fuel and cooling systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair them.
Must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment
