The Fairbanks Gold Mining (subsidiary of Kinross) Fort Knox mine is located in one of the largest gold producing areas in Alaska within the Fairbanks Mining District.
Only candidates who are currently legally authorized to work within the United States for any employers, citizens of Canada or Mexico are eligible for this opportunity.
Mining is carried out on a year-round basis, seven days a week. The Fort Knox mine operation has about 500 employees.
The MEM Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing on and off road mining equipment. Caterpillar experience is preferred. Responsibilities include PM Service, tune-ups, brakes, suspensions, and component replacement and rebuild.
Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in mining related heavy equipment maintenance
A working knowledge of manuals, schematics and diagnostic tools preferred
Must have a thorough understanding of A/C, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting related to heavy mining equipment
Must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment
Own hand tools required
Must have excellent safety habits, be safety conscious and display safe work practices
Knowledge of Caterpillar, Hitachi, and Ingersoll Rand software/diagnostic tools are required with preference given to those individuals possessing knowledge regarding the following equipment:
