King Engineering is seeking an Survey Instrument Person. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey department assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, utility and construction surveys. The position has opportunity for advancement for motivated individuals willing to learn the skills and technology required.

Essential Functions

  1. Assist the survey party chief with all aspects field crew preparation.

  2. As-built, boundary, topographic, tree & utility surveying.

  3. Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a field – outdoor environment. This role routinely uses standard survey equipment, GPS and field service equipment.

Physical Demands

This role is outside and deals with a multitude of different environments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel in company vehicle in the local area on a daily basis. Occasional out of town assignments.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent

  2. 3 years’ work experience running survey equipment

  3. Good mathematical skills

  4. Proficient in Trimble Survey Pro

  5. Good written or oral communication

  6. Attention to detail and problem solving, with a demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines

  7. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check
