King Engineering has an immediate need for an experienced CADD Designer to join our Environmental team!
The candidate will use CAD equipment/software to provide support to engineers by designing environmental engineering drawings for construction. Specific drawing types would include routine plan layouts, profile and section views, detail drawings, mechanical pipe works and assemblies, display exhibits, sketches and schematic diagrams. Project types for which drawings would be developed include utilities construction (primarily water, wastewater, and reclaimed water) associated with civil development or municipal projects, civil/structural and mechanical improvements to treatment facilities or industrial projects, etc. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction. Familiarity with specific project types is not a requirement, but is preferred, based on the position. Candidates would make simple design decisions, but would refer most questions/problems to engineers or supervisor. Candidates should have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology and construction drawings. Candidate should possess mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
Environmental Engineering Design Position
Knowledge Civil 3D 2012+
Knowledge Plant 3D 2012 (optional)
Conform to company standards and templates
Understanding of grading/elevation with feature lines
Calculating materials quantities (“take-off’s”)
Create profiles & sections of utilities and structures in a civil/land development application
Modeling proposed & existing grade surfaces (preferred, not required)
Create offset profiles (preferred, not required)
Pipe network (preferred, not required)
Pressure pipe networks (preferred, not required)
Required Education and Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent in CADD, drafting or design
1 - 3 years’ work experience in CADD, drafting, design or engineering consulting
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CADD
Excellent written or oral communication
Attention to detail and problem solving, with a demonstrated capacity to meet deadlines
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in CADD, drafting or design
3 -5 years’ work experience in CADD, drafting, design or engineering consulting
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
There is no anticipated overnight travel for this position. Some local day travel may be required.
