Direct all purchasing professionals within the department and maintain continuous material availability with minimal inventory.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training.
Oversee negotiations for the purchase of materials, equipment and supplies. Solicit quotations for materials and services, analyze bids for specification compliance, pricing, delivery commitments, and evaluate the sources to ensure they can sustain providing goods and services.
Manage and direct cost savings projects and work with cross-functional teams to reduce costs.
Oversee the monitoring of supplier and product performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Establish vendors for direct ship sheet metal products.
Delegate tasks and supervise the work load of purchasing staff to ensure an even work flow.
Manage the supply chain and notify the senior management team of any possible obstacles to filling demand as well as extraordinary cost increases.
Develop, lead and execute purchasing policy and strategies.
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
Liaison with other departments.
