Cashier Job Summary
•Operates cash register to accept payment for merchandise.
General Accountabilities
•Opens and closes the store (Store hours: Open 7 days a week 10 AM - 5 PM).
•Greets customers.
•Ensures merchandise is ticketed properly.
•Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
•Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
•Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
•Calculates total payments received during a time period, and reconciles this with total sales.
•Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
•Merchandises areas of the store for shoppability.
•Maintains clean and orderly checkout area.
